Investment into the alternative protein industry
Alternative Proteins Global (APG) tracks all investment into the alternative protein industry globally. In 2022 & 1H 2023 there were 303 Alternative Protein Investment Deals Globally.
In the past 18 months, worldwide there has been a total of $3.737 Billion USD invested into alternative protein companies (excluding accelerator/incubator cohorts & non-company directed investments). Of this, Cellular Agriculture companies raised $2.032B USD from 2022 – 1H 2023 or 54.7% of total alternative protein investment ($3.717B USD).
Plant-based companies raised $1.685B USD from 2022 – 1H 2023 or 45.3% of total alternative protein investment ($3.717B USD).
The regions with the greatest investment was the United states followed by Europe & Israel.
